Rainbow

The first time we see the rainbow in Scripture is after God judged the world with a flood. In Genesis 9:11-13, God made a promise to Noah, saying, "I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth." This is when the rainbow appeared.

The rainbow is a symbol of a covenant between God and man. In Genesis 9:16, it says, "Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." Every time the Lord sees the rainbow, He is reminded of His promise not to judge the world with a flood again.
